R John Wright Paddington Bear Brown Hat Limited Edition with Suitcase

Our Price: *1,750.00

Paddington was first introduced to the world in 1958, in "A Bear Called Paddington" by author Michael Bond and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum. The loveable character has appeared in assorted guises over the years, whilst this enchanting Paddington by R John Wright, brings a touch of magical realism.

Paddington is a 38cm / 15" fully jointed, anthropomorphic bear cub featuring a delightful moulded face. He has been sewn from a luxuriously sumptuous, woven alpaca plush, with moulded wool felt accents, emphasising his soles and digit defined palms. He has sparkling, black glass eyes and a cute, moulded leather nose, whilst minimal hand shading adds depth and definition to his character. Being Paddington is also, all about the attire. He wears a brown wool felt, bush hat and a tailored, wool felt duffle coat, complete with wooden toggles and a contrasting, lined hood. Around his neck sits the heart felt note written by Aunt Lucy. "Please look after this bear. Thank You." Finally, a hand crafted leather suitcase, with edge and corner protectors, two buckle closures and a handle, whilst inside is lined with a pocket.

He is a Limited Edition of just 2,500 pieces and will be presented to you, in a bespoke, lined box with his numbered and signed certificate of authenticity.
