In celebrating the 120th Anniversary of the first jointed bear (PB55), Steiff have released four loveable characters to celebrate the occasion, (four classics and three limited editions), who themselves, have christened the event to be ‘The Year of the Teddy Bear’.
Meet Papa who is the great-great grandson of PB55, the worlds first jointed teddy bear, designed by Richard Steiff himself.
Papa is a 35 cm / 13.7″, fully jointed character teddy bear. He has been crafted from a traditional design and sewn from the finest, luxury batik (mottled) mohair in chestnut, with warm wool felt paws, glossy black safety eyes and a hand stitched black nose and mouth completing his welcoming face. He wears a tailored linen waistcoat, with a lapel collar and a trio of buttons, plus a cotton square of beige check, mirroring that of his family’s outfits.
This glorious celebration of the jointed teddy bear is a Worldwide Limited Edition of just 1,902 pieces and will come to you boxed with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
