This much-loved character is wonderfully cuddly with the friendliest grin. Why not offer him some marmalade sandwiches and become the best of friends? It’s the 30cm tall, sitting Classic Paddington Bear by the British maker – Rainbow Designs.
Paddington has been sewn from a luxuriously soft and dense short-pile plush, with faux suede paws that have embroidered paw pad detailing and is part-bean filled for that satisfactory, squidgy soft hug. He has glossy black, oval safety eyes, with a sweet black flocked moulded nose and a wide, welcoming smile. He wears his blue duffle coat from “The Browns”, that has been sewn from a warm blue fleece with wooden toggles, pockets (with one pocket being decorated in gold embroidery with his initials P.B.), plus a red and blue brushed cotton tartan for the lining of his hood. To finish, his battered old bush hat that belonged to his late Uncle Pastuzo (red wool felt), with his must-have label lovingly attached by Aunt Lucy – “Please look after this bear. Thank You”, printed upon a sturdy backed, faux suede, whilst his gift tag features illustrations of how Paddington first appeared, in the original drawings by Peggy Fortnum. Utterly charming!!
