Hotel Sacher was founded in 1876 by Eduard Sacher, the son of Franz Sacher who was known for his decadent chocolate cake, Sachertorte (which is still served there today). Under the successful management of Eduard’s wife, Anna, it became one of the finest hotels in the world, where both diplomat and aristocrats would stay. In 2001, Hotel Sacher celebrated its 125th Anniversary and to celebrate, this commemorative and appealing Hotel Sacher bear, was exclusively created for Hotel Sacher, by the German, master teddy bear maker, Steiff.
Hotel Sacher is a 32 cm / 12.5″, fully jointed teddy bear. He has been sewn from the finest, luxuriously dense, golden mohair, with warm wool felt paws, including carded soles, so that he can stand unaided. He has glossy, two-tone brown safety eyes, with a hand stitched chocolate nose and mouth, on his expertly trimmed muzzle, resulting in the most welcoming expression. He wears his smart, tailored bell boys uniform with pride, consisting of black trousers, a burgundy coat with mandarin collar, featuring gold embroidery detailing, matched on both cuffs, with six rows of three, brass buttons on the front, plus a matching burgundy hat, with Hotel Sacher in gold thread embroidery and a black visor.
He is a Limited Edition of 1,500 pieces and comes in a unique, wooden Hotel Sacher wine box, with both the Steiff and Hotel Sacher logos.
