Cheeky Little Edward continues the story, of the teddy bear who famously inspired AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, who was originally created by Farnell, 100 years ago in 1921. In celebration, Merrythought’s Cheeky Little Edward puts his twist on this gorgeous, commemorative 100 Birthday interpretation.

Purchased from Harrods by Daphne Milne for the birthday of her son Christopher Robin, Edward bear and his new owner, became the best of friends. However, a trip to London Zoo changed things with Christopher Robin, renaming his friend, after the zoo’s resident black bear Winnipeg, or Winnie for short. Christopher’s father, AA Milne, was enamoured by the wonderful partnership he witnessed between his son and beloved teddy bear, deciding to write stories about their journey through childhood together.
Cheeky Little Edward is an 8″ / 20.3 cm, fully jointed teddy bear. He has been lovingly hand-crafted in England, using the same traditional skills and materials as Christopher Robin’s original Edward bear. This appealing chap features a rich, antique golden mohair coat and sandy-beige pure woollen felt paws. His deep, two-tone amber safety eyes, show a longing to be loved, which together with a hand-embroidered nose and enchanting grin, give him such a charm that can only be found in a teddy bear of such timeless design and heritage. Being a Cheeky Bear, we mustn’t forget that those round, saucer-like-ears are home to two tinkerling bells, endearing you to him, even more.
He is a Limited Edition of just 200 pieces and will come with his numbered certificate, in a black cotton, Merrythought drawstring bag.
