This glorious 30cm Mohair Teddy Bear is ready for school, in fact he is School Beginner Bear, a 1998 Steiff Club piece by Steiff for their Club Members.
School Beginner is fully jointed and sewn from a decadent pistachio mohair with fabulously contrasting, coral pink hand stitched features and two tone green eyes. He wears a detailed, genuine leather satchel and carries a mock ice-cream cone filled with sweets. A German tradition, whereby new pupils are given the cones for their first day at school, plus he wears the Steiff Club ceramic medallion of the time.
This wonderfully sentimental piece, was a Steiff Club Limited Edition of 8,730 Bears and will come to you boxed. However, unfortunately he does not have his certificate of authenticity, he does have his Steiff ear tag with his limited edition number and he does not have his Steiff cone that is pictured.
