This premiere character piece for R John Wright, was in production from 1988 to 1990 and was one of the largest editions, ever created by the team. It is the much admired and coverted Winnie the Pooh with Bee and Honey Pot, lovingly nicknamed Hunny Pot Pooh.
Pooh is 14″ (35.5cm) tall and fully jointed. He has the cubby body and snout as first drawn by E H Shephard, with all the charm and charisma that he could ever have.
Pooh has been sewn from a sumptuous, custom made, woven mohair/wool plush with glass eyes and enchanting, hand stitched features. His hand set, cupped ears are home to the tiniest R John Wright, animal creation to date … a captivating wool felt bee, complete with wee, sparkling glass eyes and detailed, silk screen felt wings. Bennington Potters in Vermont, were chosen to create Poohs, custom ceramic, honey pot with matching lid.
Hunny Pot Pooh wears a thick numbered disc around his neck, with his limited edition number. He is from a Limited Edition of 5,000 pieces and will come to you in a bespoke, illustrated box.
